From Icered (Date: Q1 2006)

A: Please be aware about fake interview of [Name of recruitment agency] on [Job titles or types of jobs] positions. I don’t know what their purpose is but they are not so ethical.

B: Can you share your experience?

C: They just interview the candidates as “an exercise” without recruiting any people.

D: Maybe they try to find out what’s happening in the market, salary-levels, staff in competing companies, etc. Unethical, but very common in HK.

E: Those HR girls or agents have nothing to do with and so they have to do that to retain their position, poor…

F: Whose idea is it to conduct fake interview?

G: Most probably the big boss’s idea to raise the image of his company. He pretends that the company is growing.

H: Yes, good explanation. They just repost the same ad for [Job titles or types of jobs] every three month repeatedly. If they really employ people why the same ad repeats and repeats…

I: Some companies repeatedly advertise job vacancies. Are most of the job ads on newspaper fraud?

J: Actually the companies and the recruitment agencies advertise themselves only. It is cheaper than ordinary ad. But it makes the jobless losing their confidence since they are rejected again and again.

K: Agree with you all. There have never been so many fake recruitment ads particular since 1998. So many years pasted and the ads on newspapers and magazines are mostly cheap ads of headhunters, agencies, companies go to be listed soon, and the worst of all, people search possible competitors for similar positions. Posting ad is cheap. The information obtained from applicants is so valuable for copying CV, and mass marketing purposes.

L: I once worked for [Name of recruitment agency] and in order to get information about a certain industry, we placed a job in the [Name of English newspaper] and interviewed people who worked in that industry. That was a cheap and easy way to get information about competitors, pricing, market share, etc. Then we put that information in our market research report.

M: It is really unfair to the applicants. They are being used as information provider, wasted their time and declining their confidence since they will be rejected later.

N: I wonder if we can sue some of these recruitment agencies that post bogus ads in the newspaper for “false advertising”?

O: What you can do:

  1. If you are company directors, competitors, HR managers, investors; you know the company has trouble finding the right way to do advertising to promote itself. You know what to do with that.
  2. If you are looking for a job, don’t send CV to it, since you know very well that they are not going to employ you. You should input CVs with fake info. This will mess up their market research.

P: I would like to hear from any lawyers / attorneys on their opinion, as to whether we can sue such companies.

Q: It is not just false advertising; it’s illegal. Against the law and can be prosecuted. Although, unless you have someone within the company to actually testify against their own employer. It is extremely difficult to prosecute.

R: Directors of the company can do that. No one can prove they put fake ad. Because only they know if they are really hiring. You can send them fake CV with perfectly matched background. They will never reply. That proves fake ad. But this cannot prove they post fake ad, they can say they have delayed their hiring process or whatever.

S: [Names of recruitment agencies] collect CV to float them out. Beware.

T: Do you people really think the CVs we get are all great and useful? More than 90% of them are rubbish. Ask around, how many of your friends got his job thru us, and if all the ads we post are fake ones, how do we survive? On the crap candidates who send us rubbish? Grow up!

U: I never get a job thru headhunters. They don’t see my CV useful. I see headhunters do not work. When I became director of MNCs, I always tell my assistants NOT to recruit thru headhunters.

V: [Standard reply used by headhunter] Thank you for sending us your resume. Your CV has been added to our database and our consultant will be in touch with you immediately should your qualification and expertise match any of our clients’ requirements. In the meantime, you are welcome to contact us if you have any other queries and please notify us of any changes in your current status. (Goodbye and thank you for your CV)

(Part 5)

https://xiaoshousha.blogspot.com/2019/01/part-5.html

http://xiaoshousha.blogspot.hk/2015/08/blog-post_14.html

http://xiaoshousha.blogspot.hk/2013/08/blog-post.html

Disintermediation

https://xiaoshousha.blogspot.hk/2018/03/disintermediation.html

節錄:中間人被飛,商學院語言叫 Disintermediation(非中介化)。

Due to schedule change of the senior management we regret to inform you that the interview on day/month/year has been cancelled),Auntie

Online Form

https://xiaoshousha.blogspot.com/2018/09/online-form.html

2017
5 20
http://xiaoshousha.blogspot.hk/2017/05/blog-post_20.html

2009
7 17
http://xiaoshousha.blogspot.hk/2009/07/blog-post_17.html

2009
7 24
http://xiaoshousha.blogspot.hk/2009/07/blog-post_24.html

2009
8 1
http://xiaoshousha.blogspot.hk/2009/08/blog-post.html

2013
2 16
http://xiaoshousha.blogspot.com/2013/02/blog-post_16.html

2019 3 3

https://xiaoshousha.blogspot.com/2019/03/blog-post.html
