以下是兩組於一八七四年經三藩市電報局收發的英文電報，當年沒有中文打字，電報局職員又係鬼婆，華人顧客唯有各施各法，在「懂得」英語的親友陪同下，用廣式 Chinglish 寫電報。請發揮想像力，翻譯成廣東話，歡迎加添人物細節前因後果，萬一你寫出個史詩式劇本，不妨向籌拍＜華工血淚史＞的吳宇森賣橋。

例子一：採礦業錢債糾紛

I no saby you, no can pay man; you send money I pay.

I want you pay your cousin Ah Hoey expenses to come. Downieville （地名）quick attend to claim. Am afraid there will be big fight.

Ah Hoey not here. Hop Wo Company and Nin Yung Company send men tonight. You no feel bad.

例子二：買賣人口／老婆走佬

Your woman she go Colusa.（地名）You want her go there.

Don’t you let her go. I will come tomorrow and see her. I want to bring her to Downieville to live with me. What time does the train start.

I will start for Wadsworth （地名）today and meet her on the way. Tell her to wait for me to come and if she wants to go I will let her.

Watch woman close. I come tomorrow.

講真個句，我覺得班金山阿伯好掂，賣豬仔的廣東人通常讀書不多，但係寫出來的 Chinglish 有紋有路，至少可以估到大意，利害過不少港產大學生。
